Visit to Prototal
Our meeting with Prototal | Norway and their representatives Hågen Lynum and Karin Holst at Forsvarskonferansen led to a follow-up request from our side: a visit to their facility in Levanger. The request was kindly accepted, and last week Thomas Bentzen and Kristine Valberg spent a day on-site for a thorough and insightful tour.
What we took away
Prototal’s Levanger site demonstrates strong capabilities in polymer additive manufacturing, supported by a modern 3D printing facility and industrial production experience.
For LOCAT3D, visits like this matter because they help us do what our platform is built for: making verified manufacturing capability easier to find, easier to qualify, and faster to activate – especially when lead times, logistics, and availability become critical factors.
Why it matters for preparedness and supply security
Preparedness is not only about plans – it is also about knowing which capabilities exist, where they are located, and how quickly they can respond. Strong local production environments, combined with the right digital access layer, can reduce dependency and improve response time when the unexpected happens.

A big thank you to Hågen Lynum for welcoming us, sharing valuable insights, and for the constructive conversations throughout the visit.
