Collaboration is the key to real progress, and that was clearly demonstrated during both the IndustriX kick-off and Forsvarskonferansen 2025 at Scandic Hell.

IndustriX is a 16-month accelerator programme for small and medium-sized industrial companies aiming to build a stronger position in the defence and preparedness market. The programme is initiated by Stiftelsen Teknologiformidling, Proneo, Kupa, and NORDSEC – Nordic Defence and Security Cluster, with a clear ambition: to help participating companies succeed through sharper strategy, stronger needs understanding, and better connections to the right stakeholders.

Through Industrix, Arnpro AS, Prototal AS, Castolin Trio, Stamas Solutions AS, Ballstad Slip AS, Maritim Sveiseservice AS, Årdal Maskinering, Maritime Guardian AS, LOCAT3D AS, YMEK AS, Norsk Oljelaboratorium and TKS Agri participated, together with partners Industriutvikling Vest AS, Norsec, Forsvarskonferansen, Stiftelsen Teknologiformidling and SIVA, under the auspices of Proneo and Kupa.

Why these arenas matter

For LOCAT3D, these were valuable meeting places that delivered concrete insight and perspectives – from decision-makers, industry peers, and organisations working actively to strengthen national resilience.

At Forsvarskonferansen 2025, we heard from key voices including Norway’s Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik, former UK Defence Secretary Sir Ben Wallace, and Oleksiy Gavrysh, Ukraine’s ambassador to Norway and Iceland – contributions that helped frame both today’s security landscape and the technology shifts underway.

Rana Utvikling highlighted how strongly Northern Norway was represented at the conference, which gathered 700+ participants and 70 exhibitors across the Nordic region, under the theme “Nordic cooperation in a NATO framework”.

A big thank you

Thank you to everyone we spoke with for honest input, concrete needs, and constructive advice. If we want to strengthen national robustness and endurance, we need more targeted initiatives like these – because in the end, collaboration is the multiplier.
