Talking with the industry

Established last year, NCAM aims to be Norway’s national network for additive manufacturing. The first conference, held in Trondheim, underscored the importance and timeliness of NCAM’s mission. The network is open to companies, organizations, educational institutions, and research bodies across all industries. Its goal is to foster the development of an additive manufacturing (AM) ecosystem in Norway, connecting stakeholders, advancing knowledge, and encouraging growth, innovation, and sustainable solutions.

“It was a very exciting and educational experience,” says Thomas A. Bentzen, CEO of Locat3d. “The three-day conference offered a valuable opportunity to connect with key players in Norway’s additive manufacturing landscape.”

Bentzen says he was struck by the scale and expertise within Norway’s AM network.

Did you engage with many of these players?

“Yes, we had insightful discussions with companies like Kongsberg Innovation, Kongsberg Technology Cluster, and Aker Solutions. Through these conversations, we confirmed that our business idea has solid potential and recognized that Norway has a substantial and professional AM user base. Internationally, the potential is tremendous!”
